MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIIST

I am a writer, editor and story teller based in Chicago.

I am always looking for stories that haven't been written yet. I write about music, subculture and everything in between.

Let's write something that has never been done before.

VENT MAGAZINE

Vent is a Chicago-based magazine launched in 2022. We are community-based, meaning that the contributors create every submission, photograph, and design. This allows them to have complete creative control without worrying about their art being misconstrued. We accept all mediums, from personal narrative and poetry to graphic design and news stories.

Our mission is to give a platform to all voices, especially BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks.

Our theme for this issue is “Americana,” which encapsulates a wide range of perspectives and ideas from our community. For this issue, we received submissions on topics such as gender identity, mutual aid, Tumblr, and girlhood. The goal is to give a voice to the voiceless and allow people to express themselves fully and without censorship.

A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT ME

I'm Jessica (she/her) and it's nice to meet you!

I'm a recent graduate from DePaul University, during my undergraduate I double majored in Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising. I am currently pursuing a MSJ at Northwestern Medill.

I'm a Scorpio sun, Pisces moon, and Pisces Rising, that means I'm a lot of fun and like wearing the color black. Outside of school and work I enjoy watching reality tv, downing iced coffees, only reading books halfway through and blaming my problems on the moon.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss working together.

Thanks for looking at my portfolio and I hope you found something you enjoyed!
